  2. The Belle Brigade - “Losers”

I’m a little late to the game, but this is the best video I’ve seen since Tokyo Police Club’s “Wait Up” (yeah, I like dogs).

  4. My “Notebook” Proposal - Full Story

I was going to save the full story until we got our wedding site live, but I wanted to get some more details out to persuade folks to vote for us at the Proposal Awards before they end on 1/2/12. Please take a quick second to vote here, no annoying registration or anything, just one click. And if you like the story, please reblog like crazy to get the word out.

    And so, the details…

The first night after checking in at our B&B and eating some amazing southern cooking at Virginia’s on King I took her by the American Theater where Noah and Allie had their first date. (name/date blocked for privacy)

We keep a notebook where we write notes and poetry to each other. I had snuck it into our luggage and wrote this note inside, leaving it by her pillow when she woke up the next morning.

The arrows led to the dress and shoes I had some great people on etsy make for her to match her favorite outfit from the movie.

While I was trying on the dress he revealed to me that the road our hotel was on was the same location where the “green dress scene” was filmed and went outside to get some pictures. Here’s the scene from the movie for comparison http://vimeo.com/24744082

    Channon in Allie’s dress!

    Me in Noah’s hat.

Next I took her to Cypress Gardens and we took a rowboat through the swamp. Sadly no geese/swans live here. They were brought in for the movie.

The final surprise! We drove down a long dirt road and up a gravel driveway to reveal Noah’s plantation house. She was freaking out a little bit since it was a private residence and someone was on the front porch. She didn’t know I’d snuck down there a couple months before, found the house, and spoken with the owner. After this photo I took her out on the dock and proposed. No photo there though, only a video, and that’s ours. :)

Pleeeeease don’t forget to vote here.

  5. Very appropriate comic popped up today as we’re trying to win the Proposal Award but are getting destroyed by boring and thoughtless proposals from people that must just be spamming everyone like crazy.
And after complaining about spamming people… if you haven’t already done so, please vote for us http://bit.ly/notebookproposal

Channon & Corey
Channon and I were first loves when we were 15 years old, but were separated for 11yrs before finally reuniting. Our story closely resembled what was depicted in “The Notebook” so after months planning I surprised Channon with a proposal inspired by the film. I drove her to Charleston where we stayed at a B&B on the street corner where the fictional town of Seabrook was filmed. When we awoke the next morning, a line of arrows on the floor led her to a dress I had made for her that was just like her favorite green dress Allie wore in the movie. I then drove her to Cypress Gardens where the rowboat scene was filmed and we paddled through the trees. Lastly, I led her to the house that Noah rebuilt in the film, took her out to the dock, and proposed to the love of my life.
